The Speech and Drama team competed at the Class B/C State Tournament this weekend hosted by Huntley Project digitally, spanning the course of Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The Speech and Drama team competed digitally at the Southern B/C divisional tournament hosted by Townsend High School on Saturday. The Speech team won the tournament for the 2nd consecutive year, and the Drama team placed as runner-up for the 3rd time this season. The Speech & Drama team competed at their final regular season meet on Saturday hosted by Great Falls Central Catholic. The Speech team placed 1st, completing an undefeated regular season against the entire class B/C state. The Drama team placed as runner-up for the 2nd time this season. The Three Forks High School Speech & Drama team competed in their fourth digital meet of the year last weekend, placing 1st in Speech, remaining undefeated on the season, and placing 2nd in Drama, their highest placing of the year. Molly Collins, Alexis Welch, Ally Kamps, AJ Boyd, Falisha Dale, and Josh Williams all won their individual events. The Speech & Drama team competed at their 3rd digital meet of the season on Saturday hosted by Choteau High School, placing 1st in Speech and remaining undefeated on the season. The team scored a total of 158 points, with the next closest team scoring 75. The meets possess all competing Class B/C schools in the state, so being undefeated in speech at this point isn't something that we expected. Going into this season, we knew that it would be different. Especially when our season was shortened to two months of competition and the meets were made digital. Those differences were obvious, and with those differences came fears. Fears that our numbers would drop, that we would be less competitive, that our students would get less from the process. The Three Forks Speech and Drama team competed at the divisional tournament on Saturday at Columbus Public Schools, placing as champion in Speech with a score of 131-129. The Speech team thus remains undefeated in Class B Speech competition going into the state tournament. In winning the tournament the team defeated the current holder of a 35-year state championship win streak in Loyola Sacred Heart.
