According to former Mayor and current Council member Gene Townsend, the date of September 17, 1908, is looked at as the official date the town was established.     It was just what you would expect from a rivalry matchup between the Three Forks and Manhattan High School volleyball teams.   • Steam Engine arrives in Three Forks

    An eight-year project came to fruition last week as the "Trident Steam Engine" was delivered to its new home on the tracks on the east side of the Railroad and Trident Heritage Center in Three Forks. Shortly after the arrival of the steam engine from Nevada City, an emotional Pat Townsend of the Three Forks Historical Society said it had been eight long years to get to this moment, but it was finally here. Head Coach Tara Forsberg said the team did an excellent job and they had some great times, especially from the boys' team.     There will a limited number of fans this fall at Three Forks High School sporting events. According to Athletic Director Terry Hauser, the school policy only allows two spectators for each home athlete.
