What is being described as a once in ten-year wind event wreaked havoc across the Treasure State last week including multiple trees being uprooted and power outages in the Three Forks area. The Three Forks Chamber of Commerce has a new Executive Director. Melissa Jenkins was hired for the position earlier this month. The position had previously been held by Leandra Hill. Having officially started Monday, Jenkins was thrilled to be hired and is excited about the opportunity. In late 2020, Three Forks Area Ambulance hosted a drive-by fundraising event to help generate funds for an Emergency Medical Training Class for new members. When putting together a story about the event it became very clear that the service was in desperate need of more EMTs. According to Connie Depner, they have just 12 EMT’s on the crew, with only eight of them who are actively able to respond at this time. There are two spots up for election on the Three Forks School Board. The two open seats belong to trustee Robert Buchholz who was elected to a one-year term in 2020 and Mat Marx who was appointed in late 2020 to fill the seat of Sheri Brown. The Speech & Drama team competed at their final regular season meet on Saturday hosted by Great Falls Central Catholic. The Speech team placed 1st, completing an undefeated regular season against the entire class B/C state. The Drama team placed as runner-up for the 2nd time this season. 4 games into the 2021 season, Three Forks High School girls basketball coach Mike Sauvageau admits the team has faced a difficult schedule but he is happy with the progress the team is making. The Three Forks City Council voted last week to adopt an Ice Rink usage policy. The rink located at Stevenson Park was installed and filled in late December after a fundraising effort by local residents including Mayor Sean Gifford. Listed below is the new policy.
