Last spring, I was at home washing my hands, and as I glanced up into the mirror, I noticed something unusual. My bathroom light hit my neck just right as I swallowed and there it was: a prominent lump. I diagnosed myself with a thyroid nodule and wondered how I, a physician, had failed to notice this large protuberance before that moment. Thyroid nodules are quite common. In some cases, they are noticed by the patient (like me) or are found on exam. In many cases they are found on accident when someone has an imaging test like a CT scan, MRI,...
There is never a dull moment with a 15-year-old in the house. There are times when Shayla is as sweet as a fresh Georgia peach, and others that dealing with her is moodiness is worse than a scene from the “Exorcist”. Every once in a while, she will share about something going on or the social dynamics at school, and it reminds me of when I was in se...

Before their regular-season finale Saturday against second-ranked Columbus, Three Forks boys basketball Head Coach Terry Hauser watched Finnley Tesoro shoot during warmups and told Assistant Coach Connor Sullivan the senior sharpshooter was going to have a big night. Hauser was more than correct with his assessment as Tesoro had a school-record eight three-pointers and a game-high 31 points in the 77-59 victory. "Eight is a lot of threes no matter who the opponent is, but to do it on senior... Full story
Facing a 17 point third-quarter deficit last Saturday in their regular-season finale against Columbus, the Three Forks High girls basketball responded emphatically. After cutting the lead to ten (37-27) going into the fourth quarter, the Wolves would inch even closer after two Ashlyn Swenson three-pointers made it a 39-33 game midway through the final quarter.
