    The Three Forks school board unanimously adopted a four-day school week for the 2022-2023 school year during its May 18 meeting, following the trend set by many other small town, Montana schools. With the new schedule, students will begin their first class at 8 a.m. and their final class will end at 3:45 p.m. Monday through Thursday.   • Counties seek grant for Old Town Bridge

    Gallatin and Broadwater Counties are moving forward with applications to apply for funding to help replace two bridges on Old Town Road. Both counties have applied for a $750,000 grant from the Montana Coal Endowment Program as part of the collaboration. At an April meeting, Gallatin County Lead Grants Coordinator Jamie Grabrinski estimated the total for each bridge to be around $2 million.   • Phil Olson Memorial Fly-In May 27 to 28

    Formed in 2020 by local aviators and aviation enthusiasts, the Headwaters Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) Chapter 1657, Inc., is hosting its first major event this week in Three Forks. The first annual Phil Olson Memorial Fly-In and Camp-Out is scheduled for May 27 and 28 at the Pogreba Field Airport.     The Broadwater County Commission has given the go-ahead for the Sheriff’s Office to obtain a Request for Proposals for a Body Scanner for the detention center in Townsend. The scanner will be utilized to check inmates for weapons, drugs, and any other contraband.     Tax deadlines are coming up in Gallatin County. • The second half of 2021 real property taxes are due May 31. • The first half of 2022 taxes for mobile homes are due May 31.     The Three Forks High School girls golf team finished second at last week's Class B State Tournament at the Fairmont Golf Course near Anaconda. The Wolves finished with a total of 806 strokes, only behind consecutive state champion Columbus who finished at 760.     The Three Forks High School Track and Field team will be well represented at this week's Class B State Track Meet in Great Falls.
