The 2020 annual Headwaters Bank Walk/Run held the 4th weekend of July has been cancelled by race organizers. It was determined that the event could not be held safely or meet Governor Bullock's Phase II guidelines. This would have been the 15th year for the Walk/Run; the race started in 2005 as an annual fundraiser for the Headwaters Trail. The Headwaters Trail System was recently awarded a $60,000 grant from the Recreational Trails Program. Trail construction will begin this summer on the Jefferson Loop Trail with this grant and additional assistance from IMERYS and local trail funds. The new section of trail will be located on the west side of Three Forks and will connect the Drouillard Trail with the Headwaters Trail on the east side of town. When she was 20 years old, current Three Forks resident Diane Boley was able to secure employment with the Johnson Flying Service out of Missoula. During her time with the company she would fly as a stewardess on the planes that would send firefighters to large fires across the Western United States.
