Longtime Three Forks Rodeo Arena Board member Gene Townsend has helped run the concessions at the annual NRA Rodeo for over 20 years. Townsend can remember a time when organizers would be satisfied with the attendance of 900 people on a Friday night and 1,200 to 1,300 on Saturday. After the event was canceled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Townsend was worried about what the crowd would be like when the event returned in 2021. He was more than surprised with the record-setting attendance... Full story

There are multiple times each summer I am reminded of the amazing times spent with my Grandparents, Jack, and Kathryne Smith. I have so many memories of the many wonderful vacations to Jackson, Wyoming, and Yellowstone National Park and the simpler times of just enjoying time together as a family in their backyard. Their house was always a focal point during the summer for impromptu gatherings where we would sit at their picnic table in the backyard. If there were a larger crowd, my grandpa... Full story
Summer has many activities, and our days seem to slip away. This past week I had my granddaughters for Nana camp. It was a week of learning, growing, and exploring. It was a week when I had to think about the positive impact I wanted to instill in them. We began the first day of Nana camp with a craft. I googled some fun ideas and found a YouTube tutorial on string art. It would be a fun and fairly easy project, and as it turns out, they loved the activity. As we ventured into day two of Nana’s camp, we had a day in Helena where they would b...
