I recently saw a patient I hadn’t seen in more than 18 months. This patient had previously come to me somewhat routinely for arthritic knees. Together, we constructed a conservative treatment plan to help increase activity and prolong the life of those knees. Unfortunately, the Covid-19 pandemic put a dent in our plan. Prior to the pandemic, this patient had been a borderline diabetic with some other medical comorbidities. Upon their return, we found a lot had changed. The patient had gained 30 pounds, decreased activity, and could not move a...
One could almost describe it as a scene from a movie as my large extended family wrapped up Thanksgiving dinner and sat around the table talking. When there were still empty stomachs the conversation was more small talk but as bellies filled with food and a few spirits it would always turn into a very spirited and sometimes heated debate. As soon as someone mentioned politics the mood of the room would quickly change. After about an hour, people were mad at each other and this was usually the sign for some to go home while others continued to...

It’s time for some post-season cave cleaning at the Lewis and Clark Caverns State Park. In this volunteer event you’ll get the chance to see the caverns up close and personal as we reduce some of the impact of our presence in the cave. The caverns need a bath. Over the course of the season, algae, lint and dust have built up with the thousands of visitors who have come to experience the cave, so it’s important to periodically give the formations a good scrub so that they can continue to grow and change! In honor of National Public Lands Day,...
After a scoreless first two-quarters last Friday night at home against Red Lodge, the Three Forks High School football team opened the second half in explosive fashion. A 95-yard kickoff return for a touchdown by Jacob Buchignani would end up being the only point the Wolves would need in a 6-0 victory to improve their record to 2-0. Head Coach Connor Sullivan lauded his special teams for their efforts on the game's lone score. "That was huge for us. We preach special teams during the week and...
The Three Forks High School volleyball team will look to pick up their first home win of the season on Thursday, September 9, with a match-up against Harrison. Head Coach Shann Mack said there were definitely lots of little bright spots in the team's first two regular-season matches, losses to Manhattan and Jefferson. "We, unfortunately, did not play our best volleyball. It was not a lack of effort but more so a lack of execution. This will get better with time and experience," Mack said. As far...
