    Construction on a new Meridian Bridge could begin as early as this fall. According to Jefferson County Commissioner Chair Cory Kirsch, the governing body received an update on the new bridge from Kathy Thompson of Stahly Engineering at a meeting last week at the Willow Creek Fire Hall. The new bridge will replace the current two-span steel truss bridge constructed in 1914.   • Three Forks Airport getting $5,627,414 in Grant Funds

    U.S. Senator Jon Tester (D-Montana) announced last week that his Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill secured $5,627,414 in Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airport Improvement Grant funds for the Three Forks Airport.   • Methodist Church Rummage sale next week, donations being accepted starting Saturday

    The Three Forks United Methodist Church Fall Rummage Sale is set for later this month. The popular local event is scheduled from October 6 to October 8 at the Church Annex. Donations will be accepted Saturday, October 1, from 9 a.m. to noon, Monday, October 3, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Tuesday, October 4, from 9 a.m. to noon (or until space runs out).     For the third consecutive week, the Three Forks High School Cross Country team showed prowess at a colossal meet at the Bob Firman Invite in Boise.     A fishing closure on the Jefferson River was lifted last week. The entire Jefferson River has seen fishing restrictions since July due to warm water temperatures and low flows. Temperatures have dropped, and flows on the Jefferson will have reached management criteria for lifting the closure by Wednesday.
