    On Aug. 10 at 7 p.m., Missouri Headwaters State Park will host guest speaker Kevin Underwood as he talks about the history and evolution of firearms in Montana through the 19th Century. Underwood has successfully completed a rigorous three-year gunsmithing school at Yavapai College.   • Headwaters Bank Run set for July 27

    This Saturday will be an excellent opportunity for area residents to help raise money for the Headwaters Trail System. The 2024 Headwaters Bank Run, which includes a 5K Run/Walk, 10K Run/Walk, and Half Marathon, is scheduled for Saturday, July 27. The half marathon starts at 7:30 a.m. The 5K and 10K are scheduled for 10 a.m. Same-day registration is also available at the event.   • Summer Reading Program, raising money for Three Rivers Senior Center

    As part of its 2024 Summer Reading Program, the Three Forks Community Library has partnered with three local banks to raise money for the Three Rivers Senior Center. According to Library Director Jaime Ewan, First Security Bank, Manhattan Bank, and Opportunity Bank have pledged a total of $700 that can be donated to the Senior Center. “This has given our community another way to help a local non-profit just by reading.     Earlier this year, Freddie Obrigewitch was named the Grand Marshal of the 2024 Three Forks Rodeo Dayz Parade. According to Three Forks Chamber Board Member Jill Peterson, she made the nomination because of Freddie and her late husband Mel Obrigewitch's strong ties to the Three Forks Rodeo and the rodeo circuit in several areas across the state.   • 4 Paws Rescue selling raffle tickets for animal medical care

    4 Paws Rescue of Cardwell is currently selling raffle tickets for a fundraiser. All proceeds will help provide medical care for the animals.     Get your empty pesticide containers ready. The Montana Department of Agriculture will be at the Logan Landfill on Wednesday, July 17 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. to recycle your containers. Please prepare your containers for recycling. All containers must be rinsed of product. Remove lids, foil, label booklets, rubber gaskets and metal handles.   • National Opioid Settlement Funds Available in Gallatin County

    Montana has formed the Montana Opioid Abatement Trust (MOAT) to receive national opioid settlement funds. The MOAT funds are to be dedicated to reducing the harm caused by opioid misuse and addiction through prevention, treatment, and recovery initiatives and are allocated on a formula basis to abatement regions.
