What a great few days at Fairmont for the Divisional tournament. From a cold and windy practice round Monday where we discussed some ways to attack the course and some ways to simply survive a few holes, to a fairly pleasant Tournament round on Tuesday where the girls performed really well and claimed their second divisional championship in as many years. The Three Forks High School tennis team opened up the postseason in impressive style with a second-place finish at last week's Southeast B-C Divisional Tournament in Butte. The Montana High School Association Executive Board announced last week they have selected Brian Michelotti as the next MHSA Executive Director. Michelotti will replace Mark Beckman, current Executive Director, who will retire on June 30th after 25 years of service with the organization. Michelotti will be the 5th Executive Director in the history of the organization. Brian Michelotti currently serves as the Associate Director for the MHSA. After a winning state title in the long jump at the 2021 Class B State Meet in Laurel, Three Forks senior standout Jasmyn Murphy is readying for the 2022 postseason that begins Friday at the District meet in Belgrade. The Three Forks High School golf team wrapped up the regular season in windy conditions at the Headwaters Invitation. In action last week in Billings, Three Forks defeated Forsyth 4-3 and Red Lodge 5-3. With the postseason starting Friday at the 5B District meet in Belgrade, things are starting to come together for the Three Forks High School track and field team. It has been quite the week for the Three Forks High School athletic program, with five Wolves signing letters of intent to continue their careers in college. The 2022 Class B State Champion Wolves basketball team had four players sign, with Jacob Buchignani, Mikey O'Dell, Owen Long, and Finn Tesoro putting the ink to paper to play at the next level. The Three Forks High School golf team will get the opportunity to play on their home course when they host Thursday's Headwaters Tournament. Wolves Head Coach Aaron Harkins is looking forward to playing at home. The Three Forks High School tennis team was impressive, winning seven of 11 matches in action against Jefferson High School last week. Head Coach Janna Lauver said the team played really hard through some exhaustion and soreness achieved after hard work the prior week. STAFF REPORT It was a phenomenal performance last Saturday with numerous personal bests for the Three Forks High School girls track and field team. The Wolves finished fifth overall in a loaded field that included one Class AA and numerous Class A Schools. Three Forks had the top finish among the Class B Schools. Jasmyn Murphy continued her impressive senior season finishing second in the 200 with a personal record of 27.19. She was also second in the long jump at 16-06.50. It's once again time for rodeo in Three Forks. The 2022 Three Forks High School Rodeo is scheduled for Saturday, April 30, and Sunday, May 1, at the rodeo arena. Rodeo Board Secretary Christina Kamps said the high school rodeo is almost always the first event of the season, and it is pretty much non-stop after that. It was a great week of results for the Three Forks High School tennis team. Wolves Head Coach Janna Lauver said it was a beautiful and successful day of tennis last Tuesday in Billings, with the team able to get a Three Forks record of 23 matches which included 16 victories. The Montana Spring weather showed up once again for the Manhattan Christian Invitational at Cottonwood Hills golf club on the 19th with the golfers playing through a few hefty snow flurries before the weather decided to cooperate. One of the best golfers in Class B, Three Forks senior Taylor Raffety, is continuing her career at the collegiate level. Raffety signed a letter of intent last Thursday to play golf at Montana Tech University in Butte. Shortly before signing at a special ceremony at the high school, Raffety said is very excited to play for the Ore Diggers and the new experience. Three Forks High School senior Owen Long, who recently earned All-State honors as part of the 2022 Wolves state basketball championship team, has been named to the roster for the prestigious Midland Roundtable Montana-Wyoming All-Star Series. Three Forks Tennis had a great weekend at the Choteau Invitational despite the blistering heat on Friday and the freezing winds on Saturday. We played single Pro set six matches without ads to keep all of the teams playing throughout Friday. Friday evening, we got on the courts under the lights and played some new games and drills with the Choteau team. Then Saturday the weather got ugly, so we delayed our start time and played shortened four point games just to get teams out despite the wind.... Full story

The Wolves opened the season on March 31 in Columbus and would compete again on Saturday at the Class B Kickoff in Lockwood. Surprisingly, the weather for the first golf meet (Boulder Invite on 3/28 at Bill Roberts Golf Course) of the spring season was absolutely perfect. There were some nerves and jitters before the round and encountering a little road work on the way to the course meant the kids didn’t have all that much time to really warm up, but all the kids handled the situation well and went out to compete to the best of their abilities.
