Lacrosse player Carson Wilder of Three Forks High School has been announced as a captain of one of the Bozeman High School D2 teams. Carson has been a key player for the D2 Red team in the first half of the lacrosse season having scored multiple game “hat tricks”. As a junior, Three Forks student-athlete Bryon Fanning finished in the top 10 at the Class B Cross Country State Meet, helping his team to back-to-back second-place finishes. Several months later, Fanning would finish the 2022-23 school year in style with two top-ten finishes at the State Track Meet in Butte, including fourth place in the 3200 meters. The Three Forks High School Golf team had an impressive day on April 16 at the Manhattan Christian Invitational at the Cottonwood Hills Golf Club in Bozeman. Head Coach Aaron Harkins said the Wolves had the lowest team total for the girls they have had in a while. They were led by Ari Judd, who finished second with an 81. On the first day of action on April 19, the Wolves won six of seven singles matches, and another four in doubles play. While she may only be in the fifth grade at Three Forks Elementary School, to say that Venyss Steingruber's wrestling resume is already strong might be an understatement. Steingruber earned All-American honors with a seventh-place finish in the 12U 112-pound division earlier this month at the 2024 U.S. Marine Corps Women's National Championships in Spokane. A few weeks before her high school graduation in May of 2023, Reagan Buchignani signed to continue her cheer career at Rocky Mountain College in Billings. The Wolves opened the week on April 9 with 17 hits on their way to a 27-8 victory over visiting Anaconda. For the second straight week, the Three Forks High School Softball team did not need a full seven innings to come away with a victory. The Wolves were once again dominant from the start on April 2 with a 15-0 win over Butte Central in a game that was called after four innings due to the mercy rule. The Three Forks High School Tennis team battled the elements last Friday at the CMR Courts in Great Falls, playing matches against Chinook and Chester-Joplin-Inverness. "We fought and struggled through cold, wet tennis weather. We spent an hour just trying to get water off the courts with squeegees. It was a high of 41, and you could feel it. The 2024 Montana State University Spring Rodeo will run Thursday, April 11, through Sunday, April 14, at the Brick Breeden Fieldhouse. It will be the rodeo teams' only home competition of the season.
