Members of the public will learn about flood risks in the community and the mitigation steps the City is working on to reduce the risk. The public will also learn about the new floodplain mapping project and can review the draft floodplain maps.
City of Three Forks residents are invited to attend an upcoming Mitigation Meeting on December 2 at 6 p.m., hosted by the City, DNRC, and FEMA. The meeting will be held virtually via Zoom, with the option to attend in person. Space to attend in person is limited and should be reserved for those that do not have the capabilities to attend virtually. Due to COVID-19 Gallatin City-County Health Board’s guidelines physical attendance must be limited to 25. Call City Hall at 285-3431 to reserve a seat if you cannot attend via Zoom. To attend virtually please register (not required but encouraged) at http://bit.ly/3ForksPOH.
The virtual Open House will include two presentations: The first presentation will be by DNRC to discuss the new floodplain mapping project and look at the draft floodplain maps. A brief Q&A will follow. A second presentation will be by Great West Engineering to discuss and show the flood risk mitigation options the city is working on to reduce the community flood risk. All City residents (home and business owners, renters, realtors, mortgage lenders, surveyors, and insurance agents) are encouraged to attend.
