The Montana Universal Beauty Our Little Miss Scholarship Pageant was held October 23 – 25, 2020, in Billings, Montana. The Our Little Miss competition has been leading the children's pageant industry for over 57 years. This pageant is a natural pageant meaning that the competition is non-glitz. Girls of all ages compete in Interview, Casual Wear, and Party Wear/Ball Gown. Our Little Miss's philosophy is to give children an outlet to express themselves and their talents. The competitors are encouraged to develop communication skills and poise. Because parents play an important role when a child is in any competition, the family relationship is enhanced, especially that of the mother and daughter. The pageant system does not condone stage parenting; the child must truly want to be a participant.
Preliminary pageants were held across the state last fall. From these events, the winners advanced to the state competition. Amanda Grace Wilcox attended the state pageant, competing in the Preteen Division for 10-12 year olds. After a fun and exciting weekend, Amanda received awards for Picture Perfect, Montana's Sweetheart, Best Interview, Prettiest Hair, and Best Pro-Am Rain Wear, Leather Wear, and Pajama Wear. She was also crowned the 2020 Montana Our Little Miss Universal Beauty Preteen Queen. Amanda will be representing Montana at the 2021 World's Universal Beauty Scholarship Pageant in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, January 13-17. There, she will compete in Interview, Casual Wear, Party Dress, Pro-Am, and Photogenic categories.
Amanda enjoys attending the Our Little Miss Pageants because of the friends she has made plus she likes to travel and "gets to wear beautiful clothes!" Amanda is proud and excited to represent Montana as the Our Little Miss Universal Beauty Queen.
