This week's annual Big Sky Vintage Trailer Rally in Three Forks will welcome visitors not only from Montana but from across the western United States.
Scheduled to take place June 17 to 20 at Camp Three Forks, this year's event will also include an open house this Saturday to allow residents the opportunity to see a variety of vintage trailers and visit with guests.
The event is organized by Matt and Kelly Boldly, who have had a passion for vintage trailers for the past 15 years and traveled to many different rallies.
Kelly said once they moved to Montana five years ago, they started looking for a rally because there were so many trailers but did not find one.
"So, we decided to try and put one on ourselves. We knew there had to be others with the same passion as us," Kelly said.
In 2017, Matt and Kelly hosted the first Big Sky Vintage Trailer rally and had 17 people attend.
"It was so much fun, and we made so many new friends and trailers. We decided to do it again," Kelly said.
They needed to find a new site for the event three years ago, and Kelly said they stumbled across Camp Three Forks. After speaking with former owner Tom Glorvigen and showing him the strong interest, the event was moved to Three Forks.
"We had 34 show, and the venue is so amazing we decided to keep it here. Tom was thrilled and enjoyed himself too," she said. "The venue is amazing. All the trees and space make for an incredible weekend gathering. Who does not want to be at this campsite?"
The 2021 rally is sold out with 61 sites reserved, and according to Kelly, they will have visitors from Wyoming, Utah, Idaho, Washington, and Colorado. The event will also have 11 people from the first rally who have not missed one yet.
With the success of the rally, Kelly said they decided to have an open house on Saturday, June 19, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The open house is free of charge, and members of the public can purchase ribbons to vote for their favorite trailer and all money raised will go to Eagle Mount in Bozeman.
Last year, $400 was raised for Warriors on Quiet Waters.
"We are so excited that this is still going. We love all the vintage trailers and love helping others when they catch the trailer bug too. We now live in Three Forks because we love the small-town feel and the welcoming from the town," Kelly said.
Camp Three Forks (Three Forks Koa) is located at 15 KOA Road, directly off U.S. 287.
