Even with having their Thursday home match against Harrison cancelled, it was still a fantastic week for the Three Forks High School Volleyball team.
In their lone match of the week, the Wolves played strong on the road picking up a four-set win (25-21, 20-25, 25-21, 25-22) over host Lone Peak High School.
"We are very excited about the win. We are extremely proud of the way our girls battled through adversity to get the W. It was a total and complete team effort, including our JV and C kids cheering us on from the bleachers," Head Coach Shann Mack said.
Junior Addi Pestel had a big day for Three Forks in the victory.
"Addi had a great match. She led us with 26 digs, and her passing continues to improve each week," Mack said.
Along with the strong play from Pestel, Mack highlighted the play of seniors Jasmyn Murphy and Kayden Benson, adding it was a complete team performance.
"Jasmyn had a great match in the front for us. She did a great job finding the floor and using her shots. I was also really happy with the way that Kayden handled the front row as well," said Mack. "But all in all, it was a total team effort. We tried a couple of new rotations again tonight, and all the girls did a fantastic job in their roles. We are hoping we can find one that really sticks and start to build some continuity as we head into more tough conference play."
It will be a busy week for Three Forks with a road match Thursday at Townsend, a home match Friday against Ennis, and tournament Saturday at Huntley Project.
"This week is going to be a big test mentally and physically. Three days of volleyball all back-to-back will be a great opportunity to get a ton of touches and work on our stamina that will be needed come tourney time," Mack said.
