The Three Forks United Methodist Church Fall Rummage Sale scheduled for next week is an annual event that truly brings out the best in the local community. The church located at 124 2nd Ave. E. also recently announced the return of their monthly free community dinners.
The annual Fall Rummage Sale is scheduled from Thursday, September 30 to Saturday, October 2. According to congregation member Diane Phillips, it not only helps out the church as a fundraiser , it is also greatly appreciated by community members who need items such as clothing and housewares.
The initial set up for the sale will take place Saturday, September 25, from 9 a.m. to noon, and donations and set up are scheduled for Monday, September 27 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Tuesday, September 28, from 9 a.m. to Noon.
The hours of the sale are 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. on September 30, and the Friday hours are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and will include a half-price sale from 3 to 7.
The Saturday hours are 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will include:
• A Buck-a-Bag sale.
• Bake sale.
• A sloppy joe lunch which will also have a drive-thru.
Volunteers are needed for both the setup and break down the sale on October 2 from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
After a break due to Covid-19, the annual free-of-charge Friday night dinners at the Three Forks Methodist Church will return on September 24 at 6 p.m.
Phillips said the dinners would take place the last Friday of each month and are open to all community members.
Phillips added the dinners can be for people who are having a hard time at the end of the month or for those who do not have anybody to eat with and this gives them a chance to socialize.
