During September, numerous Three Forks residents have reported bear activity within City limits as well as outside of town.
A recent release from Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks reminded residents to use bear-resistant garbage containers or keep garbage containers indoors until the day of collection to avoid conflicts with bears. The FWP release came after recent reports of 19 black bears getting into garbage and eating fruit in the Whitefish area.
