Voters say no to mill levies

Local voters Tuesday denied two general fund levies for the Three Forks School District.

In unofficial results from the Gallatin County Elections Department, the $241,650 high school district levy was defeated 546 to 340. The $398,350 elementary district levy was defeated 546 to 347.

The mill levies would have funded increasing costs related to health insurance, property liability insurance, utilities, technology, maintenance, and salaries.

Incumbent Christian Potts was victorious in her bid for a three-year term on the school board. Potts defeated challenger Emily Kennedy by a vote of 446 to 325.
