Plans are being made by the Three Forks Area Historical Society to celebrate the museum’s 40th anniversary. The museum first opened at 202 S. Main Street in July of 1982 in the old Three Valley’s State Bank building, one of the oldest buildings in Three Forks.
The “Anniversary Celebration” will also include the annual Historical Society’s Ice Cream Social event. Cake and ice cream will be served outdoors at the museum’s back yard. Please bring your lawn chairs. Originally, the date was to be August 11th; however, that has been changed to a later date this month that will be announced soon.
In the meantime, please bring your visiting relatives and friends to the museum to see the many and varied exhibits of the area’s history. Open every day, Monday through Saturday, the hours are 9 am to 5 pm and on Sunday, 11 am to 3 pm. No admission is charged, although donations are appreciated. Appointments can be made for special or after-hour tours by contacting the curator at [email protected] or [email protected]. or call the museum at 406-285-4778.
