Facing a 2-1 deficit in their home matchup last Thursday against Manhattan, the Three Forks High School Volleyball team battled back, winning the last two sets to pick up the rivalry win, 25-20, 22-25, 15-25, 25-18, 15-11.
"I'm super proud of the way our kids did not quit. It was definitely one of those hot and cold matches, but super excited to see the fight towards the end of the match from our kids," Head Coach Shann Mack said.
While Mack saw the victory over the visiting Tigers as a total team effort, he praised the bench's play during the five-set victory.
"Mikayla Lear came in and did a great job playing aggressively and clean. Ali Kotter and Kylie Rowan came in and served great," Mack said.
Along with the strong bench play, Mack said Cheyenne Cavin played her most complete match of the season and did a great job staying aggressive. Mack added Morgan Carr did a nice job late in the match finding hitters, and Addie Pestel was very solid in the back row.
The Wolves varsity team will not play this week and will next be in action on October 11 in Townsend.
"In the Manhattan match, we saw a lot of communication breakdowns, so we are going to work on all things communication, as well as tracking and pursuing the ball, and building our team connection," Mack said.
