The Three Forks High School Speech and Drama team had top-three finishes at last week’s Divisional Tournament in Columbus.
The Drama team finished in second place in Class B behind only Broadwater County High School, and the Speech team ended the tournament in third behind only Manhattan and Loyola.
“Although the day didn’t work out like we had hoped, I am still proud of the work and effort the students put out for our divisional tournament,” Head Coach Jonathan Sutton said.
In speech, Cadence Brown brought home a first-place medal in impromptu, and Lydia Kluin was second in Humorous Interpretation.
Sutton said Arlo Smith and Noah Murphy finished second in Public Forum Debate beating out all three Missoula Loyola teams.
“We have some state contenders going into next weekend in Manhattan, and our students competing are well-seasoned for this tournament coming up,” Sutton said.
In Drama, Taeyana Gesker and Zoe Pyfer finished second place in the Classical Duo category. Falisha Dale was third in mime, and Marcos Gomez was fourth. Sutton said the Drama team is sitting at a good place going into the State Tournament.
