The Three Forks High School Boys' Basketball team was dominant from start to finish in a 68-26 home conference victory on January 26 over Whitehall.
The Wolves came out of the gates strong, taking an 18-4 lead at the end of the first quarter and extending the lead to 43-12 at halftime.
Head Coach Terry Hauser praised how coachable this year's team is after the game.
"They work so hard. They want to get better, and they want to improve. They want to be coached, and it shows," said Hauser. "They are buying into the system and working hard in practice. We drill, drill, drill – and when it comes to game time, and they are doing those things, we are a tough team to beat."
Sam Tesoro led the team in scoring against the Trojans with a game-high 17 points. Dylan Swenson finished with 15, and Shane Williams was also in double figures with 10. Devon Long finished with six, and Colton Hayder ended his night with five points. Hunter Feddes and Dryden Frisinger each finished with four, and Carson Woodland added three points. Caleb Van Vleet and Tally McCauley each had two points.
Hauser added since there was not a JV game against Whitehall, he could play some of the younger kids quite a bit.
"We got in some early foul trouble. It was fun to get some of the guys playing time in the second quarter," he said.
In road action on January 27, Three Forks (7-7, 6-2 5B) fell 69-46 at Jefferson.
Swenson led the team with 19, Williams finished with 10, Van Vleet had six, Hunter Feddes finished with four, Sawyer Andersen had three, and Hayder added two points.
In this week's action, Three Forks will host rival Manhattan on February 2 and travel for a February 4 matchup at Townsend.
Looking towards the remainder of the regular season, Hauser said his team would need to focus on the calls from the coaching staff.
"We've executed those on defense, but the last couple weeks, we've been buying in on offense," he said.
