For the second straight season, the Three Forks High School Boys' Basketball team will open the postseason as regular season 5B District Champions.
"I am so proud of these young men for stepping up and filling some big shoes from last year and repeating as conference champs. That was our goal for the regular season, and we accomplished it." Head Coach Terry Hauser said.
The Wolves will enter this week's 5B District Tournament with the top seed after finishing 7-3 in conference play and will open play Friday at 6 p.m. against the winner of Thursday's game between fourth-seeded Jefferson and fifth-seed Big Timber.
"It's always nice to get that bye and be able to have a shoot around Thursday and just watch games and relax," said Hauser. "I'm super excited with the opportunity we have going into districts. We always have great fan support because it's so close to Three Forks. It should be a heck of a night Friday."
Last week, the Wolves picked up an impressive 65-63 home win Friday over visiting Class A East Helena.
Colten Hayder had a huge night for the Wolves, finishing with 16 points.
Shane Williams and Dylan Swenson each had 13, Hunter Feddes had nine, and Caleb Van Vleet finished with seven. Sam Tesoro, Tallyn McCauley, and Carson Woodland all finished with three points.
In their final regular season game Saturday, Three Forks fell 55-31 at Columbus. Williams led the team with 19 points, Feddes added five, and Swenson, Hader, and McCauley all had two points. Sawyer Andersen added one point.
