Last week the Ladies 14U Ice dogs took on Helena, Butte, and Flathead for in-conference games.
They scored a big win over Butte with a final score of 9-1. Two players from Three Forks had a great game with Acie Kelly scoring 3 goals, and Teegan Gifford scoring twice. The game opened with Abigail Kern's first-period goal, followed by a goal from Charlotte Duncan. In the second period, the Ice Dogs came out swinging, scoring 5 goals quickly from Teegan Gifford and Acie Kelley. Ice Dogs closed out the 3rd period with Goals from Gabriella Bagley and Helen Ayotte.
The Ice Dogs played another nail-biter against the Big Horns. Helena made a statement in the first two periods by scoring 4 goals. Emery Carr was able to put in the back of the net in the first with an assist from Abigail Kern. The Big Horns started the 3rd period with a commanding lead. However, the ladies battled back with goals from Emery Carr and Acie Kelley to bring the game within 1 point with 5 minutes left of play. Helena called a timeout late in the third and made some adjustments to their line. They were able to exploit some matchups scoring two goals to close the game. Walking away with the win 6-3 over the Ice Dogs.
Flathead continues to dominate the conference with a sweep this weekend.
The Ice Dogs will be traveling to Haley, Idaho this weekend to take on the Sun Valley Suns on the 25th and 26th of February.
