Ice Dogs headed to state

The Ice Dogs traveled to Hailey, Idaho this weekend to play the Sun Valley Suns. The two teams played three exhibition games to build and strengthen friendships among other ladies' youth players from the region.

Sun Valley were gracious hosts and treated all the girls to a team party Saturday night. The players and coaches were able to bond over a game they all love.

The Ice Dogs are headed to Butte this weekend for the State Tournament. The tournament will feature all the ladies' 14U and 19U teams from across the state. The tournament begins Thursday, March 2nd, and runs through the 5th of March.

As an added bonus to the tournament Montana State University women's hockey team will be taking on the Air Force Academy at 2:15 on Saturday, March 4th.

Girls' hockey is among the fastest-growing youth sports in the United States. In the 2018-19 season, more girls and women participated in ice hockey than ever before with nearly 83,000 lacing up the skates. Over the past 10 years, girls and women's hockey participation has grown by 34%. (source USA Hockey).
