Could you please give a bit of background about yourself?
My husband and I have lived in Three Forks for 32 years and raised 2 great kids here. We own Sayers Fence and have served this area for over 25 years. Over the years I can honestly say I have volunteered for pretty much everything kids! I still do, even with my own being young adults now. I enjoy spending time with my friends and family enjoying this great state we live in.
Why did you choose to run and what qualities would you personally bring to the board?
I've spent the last 9 years on the TF School Board and I can't say it's always been easy or fun by any means, but it has definitely been very rewarding. We've seen a lot of change but it's a good change. My qualities are simple, I'm level headed, fair, honest and have a true desire to make our district the best.
What are the biggest challenges for the district?
Most definitely the growth we've experienced in this area. With the bond passing, it gave us the extra room that we desperately needed but along with that comes the added expenses.
What do you think the district is doing well?
With us passing the bond, we have been able to get our classroom sizes to where they needed to be as well as incorporate programs that we had to get rid of due to not having the space. The growth of our school is a pretty big deal, but I feel like we are dealing with it the best that we can. There's a lot of things that are out of our control, however, I feel like with the additional classrooms in our school, we are able to bring those classes back and make sure those kids are getting the education that every parent expects from the school district. Our kids are our priority, and they are the main focus of every decision that we make in our school district.
