Golfers shines at Friday's home event

On a perfect day for play last Thursday at their home course, the Three Forks High School Golf team did not disappoint with a fantastic performance at the annual Headwaters Invite.

"Our kids ended up doing great. We had a few set PRs, and the teams did great as well," Head Coach Aaron Harkins said.

It was quite the day for the boys' team, with Dylan Kamps shooting a PR of 78 for a fifth-place finish and Devon Long finishing in eighth with a PR of 83.

"With the help of those two scores, the boys' team shot their lowest team total in recent memory of 348 and ended up taking second place," Harkins said.

The girls' team was also in fine form, with Ari Judd shooting an 88, her second PR in two weeks, on the way to a third-place finish at the home tournament. Lydia Kluin also had a PR of 93 and finished fifth. As a team, the girls finished in third place.

"A nice day on the course was exactly what we needed as a team, and hopefully this momentum will carry over into some great rounds at Divisionals in Eureka (May 9) in hopes of making it to the State tournament in Shelby in a little over a week," Harkins said.
