The Three Forks High School Volleyball team will wrap up the 2023 regular season with two home games this week.
The Wolves will start the week with an October 19 matchup with Jefferson High School (Boulder). Before the home finale scheduled for October 21 at 4 p.m. against Lone Peak, the four senior class members of the team will be honored. The four seniors on the 2023 team are Page Lien, Ali Kotter, Fallon Page, and Eva Parker.
Head Coach Tiffany Lynch said the seniors are a special group to her.
“I coached each of them as an assistant and have had the privilege of watching them grow and learn. With it being my first year as head coach here in Three Forks, I have leaned on them a little extra as leaders. I am so proud of the way they lead by example. They truly exemplify what it means to be a good teammate,” Lynch said.
In action last week, Three Forks lost a thrilling five-set match at home to rival Manhattan. After losing the first to sets 27-25, 25-15, the Wolves stormed back impressively, winning the following two sets, 25-17, 25-19. Three Forks would fall in the fifth set, 15-11.
Natalee Hayder had a big night for Three Forks with a team-high 12 kills and five aces. Madelyn Tesoro finished with 25 kills, Fallon Page had 12, and Hayder finished with 11. Mikayla Lear led the team with five blocks, and Arabella McCauley had a team-high 23 assists.
Three Forks fell in four sets on October 12 to visiting Ennis. The Wolves returned strong after losing 25-23 in the opening set, winning the second 25-11. The Mustangs won the final two sets, 26-24, 25-18.
“The girls played so hard against Manhattan. I was super proud of the way they came back and took Manhattan to five sets. A lot of teams may have given up after the second set, but they didn’t. They were determined to play their hardest to the very end,” said Lynch. “They also played hard against Ennis. Each set was so close, and it’s so exciting to see how much we are improving heading into postseason play. We played Ennis better this time around than we did in Ennis, and I love to see that.”
