6 Three Forks student-athletes will travel to Idaho this week to compete at the NXR Northwest Regional Championships.
Wolves Cross Country runners Micah Gather, Rhett Violett, Bryon Fanning, Teegan Gifford, Grace Kluin, and Dawson Petersen will participate in the prestigious race scheduled for Saturday, November 11, in Boise.
Three Forks Assistant Coach Matt Robb will be taking the group to Idaho and said it is very exciting to continue the season and race against high levels of competition out of state.
"Schools our size don't normally get the exposure or opportunity to go to the races that we have gone to in the last few years, so it is nice to reward these athletes who have worked and bought into our running program," said Robb. "I think these out-of-state meets have definitely had a positive impact on our regular cross-country season. I honestly think that a huge reason for us winning three state trophies in a row is because of the confidence they've gained competing against the best runners around the region and the nation."
