The Three Forks Community Library is starting a new tradition this holiday season.
Beginning on December 1 and through December 25, the "Festival of Stories: Celebrating Holidays Around Town" will feature a guest Three Forks resident or business owner reading a story that will be posted at 11 a.m. daily on the library's Facebook page (@ThreeForksCommunityLibrary).
According to Library Director Jaime Ewan, 25 residents will be reading this year, including Mayor Randy Johnston, Santa and Mrs. Claus, Pam Carey of Legacy Trading, Christina Kamps of Main Street Office, and Jodi Moore of Book Therapy and Moore.
Ewan said all the stories relate to Christmas, holidays, or winter.
"Last year, Fawn (Venzor) read stories and posted them on Facebook leading up to Christmas, and this year, I thought it would be fun to start the tradition of having people from around town reading a story," Ewan said.
Along with the opportunity for area children to see each day's story, Ewan added this year that people living out of town could see their family members reading.
The Festival of Stories books will also be available for checkout at the library.
It will be a busy month at the Three Forks Community Library, beginning on December 1 with the annual Gingerbread Contest during the Christmas Stroll.
