The Three Forks/Ennis High School Wrestling team finished tenth out of 25 teams at last week's Montana Class A Duals, held on January 19 and 20 in Butte.
The Wolves opened wrestling in the Mining City with a 39-24 loss to Miles City.
Cole Rogers (120 pounds) and Jacob Murphy (126) had pins for Three Forks/Ennis.
The Wolves lost 48-30 to Columbia Falls in the second round. Rogers, Murphy, Tatum Todd (132), and Randy Pyfer (205) all had pins for Three Forks/Ennis.
The Wolves won 48-27 over Hamilton in the third round. Todd, Wyatt Hart-Barker (138), and Murphy all had wins by fall.
Head Coach Nye Howey said his team could have wrestled better in their opening matches but started to do improve after their first two losses.
In their opening dual of the championship round on January 20, Three Forks was defeated by Sidney/Fairview, 45-27.
Howie Gayle had a 12-5 decision win at 103 pounds, and Hart-Barker, Jack Hayder (152), and Carson Lattimore (182) had pins for the Wolves.
Three Forks/Ennis bounced back in their second dual with a tie-breaker win after the match ended at 36-36.
Rogers, Murphy, Hayder, and Pyfer all had pins for Three Forks/Ennis.
The Wolves would win their second straight with a 48-27 win over Billings Central.
Nicolai Kovnesky (170), Pyfer, Gayle, Rogers, Murphy, Hart-Barker, and Hayder had pins in the victory.
Three Forks/Ennis would fall in the ninth-place match 33-30 to Hardin.
Gayle, Rogers, Murphy, Todd, and Hart-Barker had pins in the final dual of the weekend.
The Wolves will host senior night against Livingston and Florence on January 25. The four seniors on the 2023-24 team are Cole Rogers, Gabe Hungerford, Jack Hayder, and Alex Fletcher.
Howey said it should be a good night of wrestling on Thursday.
Three Forks/Ennis will also compete on January 26 and 27 at the Hardin/Lockwood Invite.
