The Three Forks Speech, Drama, and Debate team ended the season impressively at the recent Class B State Meet in Choteau. Six of the 11 qualified students made it to at least the semifinals.
"State went very well. I was extremely proud of all of our competitors," said Head Coach Bronwyn Evans.
The results included a State Championship in Public Forum Debate for Noah Murphy and Maddie Griffiths.
"They worked hard, and it was an eventful meet, with several formal protests involving several schools that made the debate results an edge-of-your-seat spectacle," said Evans.
Lance Demaray finished third in Spontaneous Oral Interpretation, Lauren Welch was 11th in SPOI, CJ Duvall was 14th in Humorous Solo, and Jordan Berg was 16th in SPOI.
"There were happy and sad tears throughout the competition, and it was great to see these teammates lift each other and cheer for those advancing. No team trophies this year, but I'm confident that is within reach in the coming years," Evans said.
