With another solid defensive performance, the Three Forks High School Boys' Basketball team moved to 5-0 on the road in 5B District with play with a 51-43 win on February 1 at Whitehall.
Trailing 15-7 early in the second quarter, the Wolves (11-5, 9-1 5B) would outscore the Trojans 14-4 to close the half and take a 21-19 lead into the break.
Three Forks led 34-30 at the end of three and outscored Whitehall 17-13 in the final quarter to take home the eight-point victory.
"Our defense is going to win us some games, and it did tonight. Our offense was struggling, but on the road, you can expect that. We'll just grind out some wins defensively and go from there," Head Coach Terry Hauser said.
The Wolves were led in scoring by Caleb Van Vleet with 14 points, and Kanon Reichman was also in double figures with 10. Shane Williams finished with eighth, Dylan Swenson had seven, Hunter Feddes finished with six, Dryden Frisinger had four, and Colten Hayder added two.
Three Forks will wrap up the regular season with a home game on February 8 against Lone Peak and a road matchup on February 9 against rival Manhattan.
Hauser said his team will focus on getting better on the offensive end.
"The defense is great; we just need to finish. I think tonight (Feb. 1) we missed seven layups in the first half. That's 14 points. I just want to see our offense come together a little more," Hauser said.
