May Louanne Petersen McLees passed away on March 11, 2024. She was born May 21, 1942, in Havre, MT, to Margaret (Minor) and Marinus Petersen.
May attended and graduated from Big Sandy High School. She attended and graduated from Rocky Mountain College. At Rocky, she met her future husband, Gary, on a blind date. They were married on August 4, 1962. They were then blessed with two children, Blair and then Brooke.
May taught high school English for 25 years. She was also a great sports fan, following her children in all of their sports – but also loving her Denver Broncos. She was also an avid bridge player.
May is survived by her children, Blair and daughter-in-law Tina (VA) and granddaughter, Devyn (AZ), her daughter Brooke and grandson Dalton (MT). Her children and grandchildren were the joys of her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gary and by her sisters, Mavis Mohar, Mardece Terry, and Myrel Nelson. She is also survived by her sister, Marcia Hashley (Dave). She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family would like to thank Compassus Hospice for their help in the last few months of May’s life. There will be a celebration of life on Friday, July 19th. More details to follow.
