Not only did the Three Forks High School Softball team break out of a slump last week, but they did so in impressive fashion, with two double-digit victories.
After opening a busy week on April 16 with a loss to Belgrade, Three Forks (9-4) concluded the week in style, breaking a four-game losing streak with a 13-1 road win on April 25 over Ennis and a 12-2 victory on April 26 at Anaconda.
"I was very happy to see the girls bounce back after a tough stretch," Head Coach Clay Feliciano said.
Three Forks pitchers, AdaRae Thomas and Kinley Feliciano, pitched complete games for the Wolves.
"We were really struggling with giving up too many walks per game. Ada allowed only two walks and struck out ten against Ennis, and Kinley walked four while striking out nine. As a team, we ran the bases well and incorporated some small ball that was very successful," Coach Feliciano said.
It was also a strong two games at the plate for Three Forks, with Thomas hitting her third home run of the season and Sierra Schall and Sierra Lindquist both getting triples against the Copperheads.
Feliciano said Eva Parker, Nova Ervin, and Thomas led the team over the two wins in hits and RBIs.
