There was some great news recently for Three Forks Elementary School with the awarding of a 2024 Public Schools Grant from the Montana Masonic Foundation.
TFES Principal Steve Fanning said staff members applied for the grant to bolster the library in the area of decodable readers.
According to the Foundation, the $2,419 grant is for new curriculum-related books for the library, specifically eight different book sets, totaling 389 "decodable" texts to encourage children to sound out words using decoding strategies rather than guessing from pictures or predicting from other clues.
