In the upcoming November 5 election, voters in Gallatin County will be asked if they want to increase the local motor vehicle tax from .5 to .7%
Earlier this month, the Gallatin County Commission voted to place the question on the ballot later this year. If it passes, the two-tenths-of-a-percent increase in funds would be used to further fund transportation infrastructure.
