In June, Gallatin County residents voted 13,700 to 11,094 to commission a study of county government. Now that the measure has moved forward, seven county residents will be selected in a nonpartisan election on November 5 to serve on a study commission, with a registration deadline of August 12.
Gallatin County Commissioner Zach Brown said he encouraged the election, which is allowed by state statute every ten years, passed on the county-wide level.
