The Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest has completed the Westphal Parks Acquisition, adding 589 acres to the Forest in the Tobacco Root Mountains 14 miles east of Twin Bridges.
The acquisition was made possible through funding via Land and Water Conservation Funds (LWCF). The LCWF was established by Congress in 1964 to fulfill a bipartisan commitment to safeguard natural areas, water resources and cultural heritage, and to provide recreation opportunities to all Americans.
