Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest West Fork Madison land acquisition completed

The Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest has completed the purchase of the third parcel of land in the West Fork Madison land acquisition. This final phase of the project brings 160 new acres to the Forest, for a total of 461 acres of private inholdings added in the three-phase acquisition along the West Fork of the Madison and Elk Rivers.

The newly acquired properties are in the Gravelly Mountain Range, 40 miles south of Ennis, MT, 27 miles west of Yellowstone National Park and 5 miles north of the Red Rock Lakes National Wildlife Refuge.
