Three Forks High School tennis team hosting camp next month

The Three Forks High School Tennis team is hosting a camp next month.

This year's camp is scheduled for Monday, August 5, to Wednesday, August 7. It will feature groupings for kids entering 1st to 3rd grade, 4th to 6th grade, and 7th to 9th grade.

"In general, our goal is to develop a love for the game that the participants can play as a family or competitively for their whole lives," Head Coach Janna Lauver said.

The camp for 1st through 3rd graders will take place daily from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Stevenson Park in Three Forks, and it costs $40. The 4th to 6th-grade camp is scheduled from 10 a.m. to Noon for $50, and the 7th to 9th-grade camp will take place each day from Noon to 2 p.m. with a cost of $50.

Lauver said they will work with each age group on racquet parts and grips, six strokes of tennis, rules of tennis, hand-eye coordination, serving, footwork, and movement.

"We have a variety of fun games for each level that will include elements of speed, agility, and strength," Lauver said.

Prizes and shirts will be provided for those attending the camp.

To sign up for the camp, please visit the school website at http://www.tfschools.com, look under the newsfeed, or visit the team's Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/tftennis.

Checks should be made out to Three Forks Schools.

"This is our second summer hosting a camp, and we are excited to share our love of the game with younger players and see them out on the tennis court," Lauver said.
