The 47th annual Three Forks Fly In will take place on Saturday, August 3, at Pogreba Field.
The event, hosted by the Montana Antique Aircraft Association, will allow area residents to see airplanes up close and mingle with pilots. Other activities planned include Kids Discovery Flights, flying events including flour bombing and spot landing, and a ping-pong ball drop.
The event, which started on a farm in Lewistown and was moved to Three Forks two years later, will begin on August 3 with a breakfast scheduled from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. The meal costs $10 and $5 for kids ten and under and will include pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, and juice or coffee.
A static display will be held throughout the day to allow residents to view the airplanes and visit with pilots. Voting for the "People's Choice" favorite airplane will take place in the main hangar, and the winner will be announced during the awards ceremony, which is scheduled for 2 p.m.
Parking for those in attendance will be available along the entrance to the airport.
Kids Discovery Fights are scheduled from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. for children ages 8 to 17. While there is no cost, sign-up is required, and the spots will fill quickly. Contact Randie Keep at [email protected] for more information.
Flying Events are scheduled from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., and the Ping-Pong Ball Drop for kids ages 3 to 12 will occur at 1 p.m.
A complimentary hot dog lunch is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Main Hangar. Donations will be accepted to help defray the event's costs and to benefit the MAAA annual aviation scholarship fund.
The winners of the People's Choice Airplane, Flour Bombing, Spot Landing, Raffle, and Silent Auction Items will be announced at 2 p.m.
