Wrestling tournament Saturday, camp set for Sunday

There will be two great opportunities later this week for area wrestlers.

On Saturday, August 3, the Headwaters Wrestling Academy and Friends of Three Forks Wrestling are hosting the annual Keith Pierce Wrestling Under the Lights Tournament.

The tournament will be held at the Three Forks High School Football field starting at 5 p.m.

The cost is $15 per wrestler (Folkstyle), and a USA Wrestling card is required.

The USA weight classes for boys and girls at the event are 6U, 8U, 10U, 12U, 14U, 16U, and Junior. Double bracketing is allowed at the event. Medals will awarded for first to fourth place.

Admission for the event is $7 for adults, $5 for students, and free for kids five and under. Concessions include pulled pork, hamburgers, hot dogs, pizza, Gatorade, and water. No outside coolers are allowed.

CAMP

The CM Wrestling Camp is scheduled for Sunday, August 4, at Three Forks High School.

The camp with Arizona State wrestlers Chance McLane and Richard Figueroa and Chance McLane is open for wrestlers nine to 18 years old and will run from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. and 3:15 to 4:45 p.m. Pictures and signatures will take place from 4:45 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Figueroa was the 2024 NCAA Division 1 National Champion for the Sun Devils. The 125-pound National Champion was also a 2024 Pac 12 Champion and NWCA Scholar All-American.

McLane, a three-time Montana State Champion, finished third (165) at the 2024 Pac-12 Championships and was an NCAA D1 NWCA Scholar All-American.
