Warrior Taste Fest raises money for 'Built for More'

It was an evening that showcased the truly amazing support of veterans in Montana on September 6 when the Warriors & Quiet Waters Foundation hosted the sixth annual Warrior Taste Fest at the Commons at Baxter and Love in Bozeman.

The Foundation, which empowers post-9/11 combat veterans and their loved ones to thrive and live purpose-driven lives through peak experiences in nature, meaningful relationships, and a sense of community, was hosting its premier fundraising event of the year. Its goal was to raise over $800,000 for its flagship program, Built for More. The Foundation more than exceeded its fundraising goal. On September 10, the Warriors & Quiet Waters Foundation announced they had raised over $905,000.

“This is by far our biggest fundraiser of the year, and it’s something that has been going on for a number of years. More importantly, I think it speaks to the support we get from the Gallatin Valley, Bozeman, and all of Montana. It’s a big, big deal for us,” said Warriors and Quiet Waters Foundation Board Chair Sandy Stash.

The event featured food and drink from over 30 restaurants, wineries, breweries, and distilleries, including Iron Horse Cafe and Pie Shop and Blue Smoke Barbecue of Three Forks. It also had a live auction, in which ten renowned artists quick-finished their Wester-inspired artworks, auctioned by leading art auctioneer Troy Black.

“Our Built for More program is literally changing the lives of post-Afghan and Iraqi Veterans. This event and our sponsors play a big role in our success as an organization,” Stash said.
