For the second consecutive week, the Three Forks High School Football team dominated the first half to take a 40-0 lead into halftime, this time on their way to a 54-12 road win on September 13 at Whitehall.
Following the game, Head Coach Connor Sullivan praised the team's play on both the offensive and defensive lines.
"We challenge them a lot. We know what makes us go is the line on both sides of the ball. We give them a challenge every single week, and they answer it. I'm excited for them, and we can't wait to see where it goes from here," Sullivan said.
After scoring on the opening drives of their first two games of the season, the Wolves did so again in Whitehall, finding the endzone just 1:02 into the game after a one-yard touchdown run from sophomore quarterback Kanon Reichman.
It would not be long before Three Forks scored again when they took a 14-0 lead on a nine-yard run from Dylan Swenson with 9:01 remaining in the first quarter.
After a five-yard Sawyer Andersen touchdown, the Wolves would push the lead to 27-0 when Reichman once again found his way into the endzone, this time on a nine-yard touchdown run with 2:12 remaining in the opening quarter.
The Wolves would score on the opening play of the second quarter on a 26-yard touchdown from Sawyer Andersen to increase the lead to 33-0.
Three Forks would score the final points of the first half when Sawyer Andersen once again crossed the goal line, this time on a 15-yard touchdown pass from Reichman with 6:34 left in the second quarter.
"Sawyer is a kid you love having. He works hard, he's vocal, and he leads by example. At the beginning of the season, we said we are going to lean on these seniors a lot, and so far, they have answered the call," Sullivan said.
After the Trojans cut the lead to 40-6, Reichman would connect with Dylan Andersen for a four-yard touchdown pass with 3:40 in the third quarter to put the Wolves up 47-6.
Three Forks would score their final points of the night with seven minutes remaining on a five-yard touchdown run from freshman Gabriel Potts.
Sullivan was not only pleased with the performance of his team, but also the lack of penalties committed by the Wolves.
"It was awesome. We wanted to clean up the penalties a little bit, and the first half was almost flawless, penalty-wise, which is great to see," Sullivan said.
Three Forks (3-0) will wrap up their non-conference schedule with a September 20 Homecoming matchup against visiting Anaconda (0-2).
"We need another great week of practice. Anaconda had a bye week, and they are going to be ready to go," Sullivan said.
