Three Forks Education Foundation receives grant/corporate donation

In September, The Three Forks Education Foundation received $2500 from two separate funding sources.

The Foundation is a recipient of a $1000 grant from the BNSF Railroad Foundation and a contribution from the BNY Mellon Trust for a generous donation of $1500. These funds will benefit the teachers and students of the Three Forks Public School either through matching grants for teacher's classroom innovation or enrichment programs or through student scholarships awarded each spring to graduating seniors for secondary education programs.

The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that raises funds to enrich our students' education and support their success. Many local businesses support the Foundation, the teachers, and the students through supplying a specific scholarship through the Foundation or donating to the Foundation.

"We are pleased to be able to offer even more support to the teachers and students by receiving these funds," says Leeann Garnas, the new Board Treasurer. "The Foundation is unique in that it is able to raise money for grants and scholarships of its own design, but also facilitate those businesses that provide scholarships. The business establishes the criteria, the Foundation can do the management, application and selection process for the business owner. And there is always more opportunity for more local businesses to establish scholarships with us."
