Wolves defeat Lone Peak in regular season finale, open postseason Oct. 31

The Three Forks High School impressively ended the regular season with a victory on October 26 against visiting Lone Peak.

In a senior night contest where Natalee Hayder, Kylee Reichman, and Kennedy Rogers were honored before the start of play, the Wolves won in four sets, 25-13, 23-25, 25-11, 25-21.

Rogers said it felt exciting to get the win on senior night.

"It was so awesome to win our last game playing at home in front of our families and friends, but also sad that this was our last time on our home court together. I'm going to miss Nat and Kylee; we've been playing together for six years through many different coaches. I'm thankful for the coaches we have had and all my teammates. I will definitely miss the underclassmen and will be cheering them on," Rogers said.

For Hayder, senior night was a bittersweet event.

"It marked the four years of hard work, dedication, and countless memories on the court. I couldn't be more thankful for all the support I had received," Hayder said.

Looking back on the regular season, Reichman said she has had so much fun this year.

"I love our coaches, and the team has really grown closer throughout the season. I am going to miss this," Reichman said.

Mikayla Lear had a fantastic night in the victory with eight kills, three aces, 19 digs, one block, and three assists.

Hayder finished with 16 kills, two aces, nine digs, and one assist. Ciel Gayle had 14 kills, 11 digs, one block, and one assist, and Maddy Tesoro finished the win with 35 assists, five aces, and six digs.

Three Forks will open the postseason at this week's 5B District Tournament on October 31 in Manhattan. In the tournament's first match, the fifth-seeded Wolves will play against fourth-seeded Manhattan High School at 9 a.m.

The match winner will play number one-seed Jefferson High School (Boulder) on October 31 at 2:15 p.m. The loser of the opening rivalry matchup will play on Friday, November 1, at 10:45 a.m.
