Under the direction of new Head Coach Shayla Stemple, Lady Wolves to open season on December 5

Under the direction of first-year Head Coach Shayla Stemple, the Three Forks High School Girls’ Basketball team will open the 2024-25 season at home with a December 5 matchup against visiting West Yellowstone.

A two-time All-State player for the Wolves and 2012 Three Forks High School Valedictorian, Stemple said she is beyond excited for the opportunity to return to her alma mater.

“Coming back to Three Forks and coaching the Girls’ Basketball program has been a goal and dream of mine, and to get to do it with my sisters as my assistants is icing on the cake. We are blessed to be able to give back to our school and community in this way, and we are so excited for the season,” said Stemple. “Fans can expect to see a disciplined, competitive basketball team that is extremely tough on defense and plays with urgency. We also emphasize getting joy from the game and each other and hope that fans will be able to see this when they watch our games.”

With the Lady Wolves’ season nearing, Stemple feels the early practices have been going well as the team prepares for its opener.

“The girls work hard, are coachable, like to compete, and have been so much fun to work with. They are picking things up quickly, and I like the progress we are making as a team,” Stemple said.

Three Forks has five seniors on the team: Devynn Judd, Bella Jones, Kylee Reichman, Kylie Rowan, and Isabell Harris. Juniors on the team include Mikayla Lear and Maddie Tesoro, last season’s leading scorer.

“Their experience is going to be extremely vital as we start the season, and we will look to them to lead with composure. They have been showing great leadership in practice up to this point, and it will be exciting to see how they lead in a game,” Stemple said.

Along with the returning upper-class players, the sophomore class, including Maya Noble, Hailey Williams, and Arabella McCauley, will also be a huge asset for Three Forks.

“They have been doing great in practice and I am especially excited about how these young players raise our intensity on defense. It will be fun to watch them grow throughout the season,” Stemple said.

Looking toward the season opener on December 5, Stemple said they will focus on what they can control, specifically their attitude and effort.

“We are looking forward to seeing the girls compete in a game setting and learning more about ourselves,” Stemple said.
