Three Forks hosting Magris Tournament

It will be an action-packed weekend of basketball in Three Forks.

For the first time in five years, Three Forks High School will host the Magris, formerly Imerys, Basketball Tournament on December 13 and 14. Now in its 25th year, this year's two-day tournament will feature 32 games.

Three Forks High School Girls' Head Basketball Coach Shayla Stemple said she and her assistant coaches and sisters, Shelby Allen and Shainy Mack, are thrilled to have the school host the tournament for the first time since 2019.

"That was a huge part of our program when we went to school here, and to have it back, we're so excited," said Stemple. "We ran around doing the towels and stuff; it was almost like a little holiday in Three Forks, so we're really excited that it's back."

Three Forks High School Boys' Basketball Head Coach and Athletic Director Terry Hauser said he is also excited to have the pre-season tournament up and running again.

"It's not only great to have two more home games and to be able to host, but it's also great for the community as well. It will be an awesome weekend," Hauser said.

Activity passes will not be valid at the Magris Basketball Tournament, and the cost is $8 for an adult and $6 for students each day.

Varsity action will start on December 13. The Choteau girls will face Ennis at 9 a.m., followed by a boys' matchup between the two teams at 10:30 a.m.
